Cumberland University, in conjunction with The Nashville Symphony, is thrilled to invite the local Wilson County community to campus for the 2024 Symphony on the Lawn Community Concert Series. This year, Symphony on the Lawn will be on Saturday, June 8, at 7:30 PM.
Community members are invited to gather on the lawn in front of Memorial Hall, where they can set up lawn chairs and enjoy a picnic before the concert begins. Visitors will have several food trucks to choose from, including Houston’s, Two Fat Men Ice Cream, and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1004.
While the Symphony performance is scheduled for 7:30 PM, pre-show activities like the Symphony’s Instrument Petting Zoo, Sidewalk Chalk sponsored by Cumberland University, and student performances from members of Camp Fame will take place prior to the show beginning at 6:00 PM.
Under the direction of talented conductor Nathan Aspinall, the Nashville Symphony will perform a variety of pieces from Disney’s Aladdin, The Wizard of Oz, and even E.T. The night’s full program is available here.
Generous funds provided by Benefits Inc., Publix Super Market Charities, Middle Tennessee Electric, and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County make free community concerts with the Nashville Symphony possible.
In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to Cumberland’s Dallas Floyd Phoenix Arena.
