Daniela Rivera is a freshman from Paraguay who is majoring in Humanities and Social Sciences and is on CU’s Cross Country team.
Why did you want to study in the U.S. and why did you choose Cumberland?
I chose to study in the U.S. because it is the country with the most student-athlete facilities. I hope to become a Sociologist, and Cumberland felt like the best fit for me.
What is your favorite study spot on campus?
Under the big tree on the quad.
Who has helped you during your college career as you were transitioning from your country to Middle Tennessee?
My parents inspired me to pursue my education, and my roommate has helped me during the transition.
What do you do for fun?
I like going to concerts and reading about history. I also like to hang out with friends and take naps.
What does a college education mean to you?
It means the next level for my running career and my future as a professional. It is a challenge and a way to connect with people from all over the world.
