Sororities at Cumberland University
-
Apha Omicron Pi
-
Alpha Sigma Tau
-
Zeta Phi Beta
Cumberland University also has three nationally recognized sororities – Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Sigma Tau, and Zeta Phi Beta. Two of our sororities are members of the National Panhellenic Council (NPC) umbrella group. One of our sororities is a member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) umbrella organization.
All sororities have unique qualities to offer women, but share similar ideas and goals to better the Cumberland Sorority Community. We strive for the best in leadership, scholarship, service and sisterhood. Our goal is to build a community that reflects diversity and inclusion within all sorority membership.
Alpha Omicron Pi and Alpha Sigma Tau Sororities participate in formal recruitment during the fall semester; however, there is an opportunity to join in the spring semester as well. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority completes an intake process based on their chapter’s need.

Alpha Sigma Tau
Alpha Sigma Tau
Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority is committed to developing scholars, philanthropists, leaders and sisters among our collegiate and alumnae members. The Sorority strives to have a cooperative relationship with our host colleges and universities as we educate our members on who we are as Alpha Sigma Taus. Alpha Sigma Tau promotes the ethical, cultural, and social development of its members, specifically: to develop the character of each member through a study of ethics so that she will show in all her relationships sincerity, honesty, love and understanding; to help each member enjoy the cultural advantages in life so that she will know how to select those things which are most worthwhile; and to develop in each member the social graces to the extent that she will be able to take her place in life with true dignity and poise.
