With a rich background in Education, Cherry Ross comes to us from teaching within the Murfreesboro City Schools district. After teaching a multitude of grades for six years and receiving Teacher of the Year in 2014, Cherry grew into the Academic Coaching role, becoming one of the first Academic Coaches within the MCS district and remaining a coach for ten years. She will receive her EdD in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change at Lipscomb University in December 2024. Throughout her coaching role, Mrs. Ross has fostered a collaborative environment, working with teachers of all ages and within all elementary grades. Her guidance and support have been instrumental in providing top-tier education for her school and district. As a direct effect of her coaching, her school became STEM-designated and quickly became one of the most recognized schools in the Middle Tennessee area for innovation and integrating STEM. Due to her influence, Mrs. Ross has presented educational content to many other states, districts, and schools. Because of her passion for coaching young adults, Mrs. Ross jumped at the opportunity to join Cumberland University as an Academic Coach in the Labry School. In this position, Mrs. Ross is able to work with young adults and play a role in their academic, social, and overall growth.
