Custom Packaging will be the presenting sponsor of Cumberland University’s annual black-tie fundraiser, the Phoenix Ball.
Custom Packaging, Inc. designs and manufactures corrugated displays, graphics and industrial packaging. Jackie Cowden, CEO of Custom Packaging and Cumberland University board of trust member, said she is excited to continue the half-century of support the company has given to CU.
“Custom Packaging has always been a huge supporter of Cumberland University long before I attended there the first time, which was in 1973 when it was Cumberland College. Cumberland University provides middle Tennessee with a rich history of higher education and producing future leaders in politics, nursing, teaching, business and many more areas. That history as well as the contemporary achievements gives us a great sense of pride in our institution,” said Cowden.
The company provides a scholarship for employees or their children who want to attend Cumberland. Cowden is especially proud of her fellow alumni who are employees. They work in different areas of the company, and some have even started their career there as an intern.
“The Phoenix Ball raises money for scholarships and we know from experience that Cumberland graduates are well-prepared. Also, I know with the great leadership of Katy and Michael Moscardelli as Phoenix Ball Chairs, this year’s event will be the best one yet,” said Cowden.
The thirty-third annual Phoenix Ball will be June 4 at Cumberland University. For more information about the event or sponsorships, visit www.phoenixball.com.
