Cumberland University Hosts Inaugural Faith Fest to Unite Campus and Community in Celebration

Cumberland University is excited to announce its first-ever Faith Fest, set to take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on the university Quad. This ecumenical event is designed to bring together the campus community, local churches, youth groups, and college students for an evening of faith, fellowship, and fun.

“It is such an incredible privilege to be able to host our first ever Faith Fest on campus this year! This will be such an amazing opportunity, and will bring people of all different faith backgrounds together,” says Caitlyn Compton, a Cumberland sophomore, “This is truly going to be something special!”

Faith Fest 2024 will feature a variety of activities that highlight the vibrant community spirit of Cumberland University. Attendees can look forward to live music performances, food, giveaways, games and an appearance from special guest Matt Maher who will host a songwriting masterclass in Baird Chapel at 3:00 PM.

Whitney Simpson, Wesley Fellowship’s campus minister, expressed her excitement saying, “Faith Fest will be a chance to participate in the holistic education of Cumberland students. Learning about and from people of other backgrounds is an integral part of spiritual formation.”

This event is an open invitation to all, welcoming participants to bring a chair or blanket and join in the festivities. It’s not just about having fun, though; Faith Fest aims to foster a sense of community among people of different faith backgrounds, offering a space where everyone can come together and celebrate their shared values.

In keeping with the university’s commitment to philanthropy, attendees are encouraged to bring a dorm-friendly food item to donate. These donations will go directly to students in need.

Cumberland University’s Faith Fest is supported by a coalition of campus organizations, including University Catholic (UCAT), the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM), Cumberland University Wesley Fellowship, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Their collaboration exemplifies the university’s dedication to fostering an inclusive environment where all faith traditions are respected and celebrated.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with others, enjoy great music, and contribute to a meaningful cause. Faith Fest 2024 promises to be an unforgettable evening uniting Cumberland University and the wider community.
