What if I don’t meet the ACT/SAT requirements? Should I still apply?
Yes. We believe you are more than a test score. We know that a student shouldn’t just be measured by their test scores or GPA, that’s why each application is personally and holistically reviewed. This means someone is actually reading it carefully, and we look at the rigor of your curriculum, the trends in your grades, and any supplemental information you provide to give context.
To help our team with the review process, we require all students who do not meet minimum admission requirements to complete the Personal Statement and Resilience Questionnaire. This statement and questionnaire will indicate why you would like to attend Cumberland University, how you would help contribute to a diverse student body, and will measure how potentially resilient you will be at CU. The goal is to provide our review team with more information about your ability, training, and motivation to succeed at CU.
