At CU, our curriculum blends traditional liberal arts values with modern practical approaches. We provide our students with a well-rounded background in a variety of subjects ranging from the humanities to the sciences.

We offer over 80 programs of study through three distinct schools where our core liberal arts curriculum is incorporated into all our programs of study.

There may be times when you need help with a tough class. The Office of Student Success is your place for academic support when you need it. They provide academic support through tutoring, mentoring and academic assistance. They have the tools necessary for you to be successful, whether that means helping you pass your hardest class or turning a B into an A!

For information on class registration, schedules, transcripts, graduation and more, the Office of the Registrar is ready to help.

The Vise Library houses numerous resources including, 40,000+ volumes plus an additional 45,000 full-text ebooks. Students have access to an inter-library service where you can check out books from other libraries for free. Beyond resources, databases and archives, the library also provides a computer lab and individual computer stations for studying and completing assignments. You’ll also have access to conference rooms, private study rooms, and meeting spaces to study and work with your classmates.

Three schools compose Cumberland University: The Millard and J.J. Oakley School of Humanities, Education & the Arts; The Labry School of Science, Technology, & Business; and The Rudy School of Nursing & Health Professions. Within each of these schools you’ll find faculty eager to teach, exceptional academic resources, and unique opportunities for professional development.

Teaching is a work of heart – and our faculty have a heart for our students. At CU you have a whole village of fans cheering you on and celebrating your success every step of the way. Our faculty are available to talk through your challenges and mentor you one-on-one. They advise you as you make important academic decisions and share their knowledge and time to help you prepare to take on the world when you graduate.
