Cumberland University’s spring board retreat was held on campus last week with a keynote speech from Steve Turner, founder of MarketStreet Enterprises.

Turner addressed the Cumberland University Board of Trust, giving insight into his extensive resume of business experience. Steve Turner is the founder of MarketStreet Enterprises which is primarily engaged in the development of The Gulch, an urban mixed-use neighborhood in downtown Nashville. Turner currently serves as the chairman of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. He has previously served on the board of The Frist Center for the Visual Arts, the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, the Nashville Symphony, Vanderbilt University, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Cumberland Region Tomorrow and the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee.

In addition to hearing from Turner, the board also discussed key topics for the university, including campus master planning, market landscape and demand for new graduate programs.

University President Paul C. Stumb is thankful to Steve Turner, the Cumberland University Board of Trust, and everybody who made this event a success.
