The M.Ed. Reading Specialist emphasis prepares licensure candidates the opportunity to meet the TN Department of Education’s requirements for the K-12 Reading Specialist additional endorsement. The Reading Specialist program requires that candidates have completed a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience and hold a valid Tennessee Teaching license.
M.Ed. Mission
The mission of the Master of Education Reading Specialist program is to promote a deep understanding of literacy with multiple opportunities to demonstrate effective instructional practices that support literacy development for all students.
Program Goal
In Cumberland University’s M.Ed.Reading Specialist program you will learn how to improve teaching resources and student achievement through transformational school leadership. Students graduate from this program with a deep understanding of literacy development and leadership in today’s schools.
