A recent graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, Noah Huseman received his Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Jazz Piano and a minor in Recording Industry. He now works as a full-time musician, with work ranging from choral and instrumental music direction to writing original music and arrangements.

Studying under Pat Coil, Dr. Arunesh Nadgir, and Angela Tipps, Mr. Huseman strives to maintain a high level of well-rounded musicianship. Since he graduated college, Mr. Huseman has been a sought-after pianist in many genres; specializing in jazz, musical theater, and choral music.

With collaborative projects at the forefront of his creative work, he enjoys accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists alike.

Camille most recently started working as an Associate Registrar in October 2023. Camille is originally from Huntingdon, Pennsylvania but recently moved to Mt. Juliet in May 2022 after living in St. Louis, Missouri for one year.

She started her college career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2017 and later transferred to Juniata College where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Communications with a minor in Psychology upon graduating in 2021. She is also a member of the Lamda Pi Eta National Communication Association Honor Society.

After having a few years of experience in the medical field where she holds a license in chiropractic therapy, Camille decided to change careers and began working here at Cumberland University. She is also working towards her Master’s degree through LSU.

GUNNAR HELLAND

Entering his first year with the program, Helland was most recently Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at Oconomowoc High School in Wisconsin but brings with him a wealth of experience at a young age. Helland graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education Teaching from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 2020.

The Wisconsin native worked as both an intern and volunteer over his four years in college. He spent three years volunteering at his alma mater and impressed at University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he interned for three years.

Soon after receiving his degree, he served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach Intern at the University of South Dakota. It was there that he took on his largest role to date, assisting with workouts for football, men’s basketball, women’s soccer, and track and field.

Since graduating in 2020, Helland has continued to work at his craft as well. In 2021 he received his certification from the National Strength & Conditioning Association as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist, adding onto his USA Weightlifting Level One Sports Performance Coach status.

Que’Asia Berry was born and raised in Lebanon, TN. She graduated from Wilson Central High School in 2018. In December of 2022, she graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a B.S. in Microbiology and a B.S. in Neuroscience.

Kaitlyn Wilkinson serves as the Administrative Outreach Coordinator for the Office of Student Retention, while also teaching Foundations of Scholarship and Learning and Criminal Justice courses.

Kaitlyn attended Cumberland University for her associate in criminal justice prior to enlisting in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, Kaitlyn served as Military Police, both overseas and stateside. She received her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from American Miliary University, her Juris Masters from Liberty University, and her Master’s in Legal Studies from American Military University.

Fiyinfoluwa (Fiyin) Awodele holds a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Leadership and Audio Digital Media from Liberty University. With a background enriched by an internship in video production, Fiyin initially served as a Communications Specialist at Framatome Inc. in Lynchburg, Virginia. This experience paved the way for Fiyin’s subsequent role as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Cumberland University.

Haley was born and raised in Cartersville, GA where she graduated from Cartersville High School. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of the Cumberlands. While earning her degree, Haley worked in retail as a manager at a men’s clothing store in Cartersville.

Haley moved to Shelbyville and started with Cumberland University July of 2023 as a Financial Aid Advisor.

In her free time, Haley is an avid sports fan. Loves hanging out with her family and friends and enjoys playing sports as well.

Bobby Brown starts his 10th season as an assistant coach at Cumberland University in 2022. He primarily works with the defensive backs and is in the booth on game days.

Prior to working with defensive backs, Brown coached the Phoenix Running Backs. CU running backs averaged 126.2 yards per game and scored 17 touchdowns during a 7-4 campaign in 2013. Fullback Michael Nwokoji garnered First Team All-Mid-South Conference honors while amassing 523 yards on 120 carries with seven TDs in just seven games before an injury cut his season short. Fredrel Cross posted 450 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 6.7 yards-per-carry in only four contests in the back field.

In 2014 Cumberland averaged 201.5 yards per game on the ground, with Blake DeBoard leading the running back group with 458 yards and four touchdowns in nine outings, earning First Team All-MSC accolades. Fullbacks Brandon Mallory and George Nwokoji combined for 421 yards and seven touchdowns as well.

CU ranked 29th nationally in total rushing offense (2,021 yards) and 31st in rushing offense per game (183.7) in 2015 behind 691 yards and six touchdowns from Austin Chaplin, who earned Second Team All-MSC West Division honors. Moses Cornelius rushed for 499 yards and six TDs in the final six games of the year as well.

In 2016 the Phoenix ranked 11th in the country in rushing offense per game (232.4) and 13th in total rushing offense (2,556), with five players finishing with more than 330 yards on the ground. Dezmon Huntley paced the club with 745 yards and six touchdowns in just seven games while Kris Parker led the club with eight rushing TDs and posted 343 yards on just 64 attempts, 5.4 yards-per-carry.

This past season the Phoenix ranked sixth in the nation in rushing offense per game (260.7) and total rushing offense (2,868). Thirty-five of the team’s 54 touchdowns were scored on the ground, with sophomore Kimlee North earning First Team All-Mid-South Conference honors and Parker adding Second Team accolades. The duo combined for 1,141 yards and 11 touchdowns (515 yards on 72 carries, 7.2 yards-per-attempt, eight touchdowns for North).

The Watertown, Tenn., native is no stranger to the middle Tennessee area, serving nine seasons as head coach at Lebanon High School and eight years as an assistant coach at Trousdale County High School.

While at LHS, he served as Assistant Principal, teacher and head coach for two years and Assistant Principal, Co-Athletic Director and head coach for three years. Brown posted a 44-51 mark at Lebanon, with three teams finishing with winning records: 2003 (6-5), 2004 (9-3) and 2006 (6-5). Four of his teams advanced to the TSSAA postseason.

In 2010 the Blue Devils rushed for 3,042 yards, the high-water mark for the past 25 years, and averaged 26.5 points per game. Brown’s nine-year tenure at Lebanon was the longest at the local school since the mid 1960’s. Prior to his stint at LHS, he was an assistant coach for eight seasons (six as defensive coordinator) at Trousdale County under Clint Satterfield.

Brown received his bachelor’s in Business Education with a minor in Secondary Education and Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University in 1994. He earned a master’s in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee Tech in 2000. He also received a Specialist in Education Degree in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Tech in 2010.

I am a Wilson County Native born and raised in Lebanon/Watertown, TN. I graduated from Watertown High School in 2018. I graduated from Cumberland with my Bachelor of Art in Humanities and Social Sciences with minors in History, English, and Criminal Justice in December of 2021 and my Master’s in Public Service Management in December 2023. In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors hiking or swimming, and spending time with my fiancé, friends, and family.
