How do I register?
Winter Term 2024 and Spring 2025 priority advising and registration has begun for currently enrolled students. Students interested in registering for the Winter Term should speak directly with their academic advisor. The last day to register for the Winter Term is December 9, 2024.
New students must apply to the university by November 30, 2024 to enroll in the Winter Term.
About Winter Term
Winter Term offers undergraduate students the opportunity to complete college courses in just 5 weeks.
- All courses delivered fully online via Zoom and CANVAS. CANVAS is the online course management tool that professors will utilize through the winter term
- Current students can register for Winter Term classes at the same time you register for Spring ‘25 classes
- Courses taken in Winter Term can serve as pre-requisites for courses student wishes to take in the Spring ‘25 semester
- Limited time discounted tuition rate – $525 per credit hour for undergraduate courses plus the course access fee
- Choose from a total of 35 online courses

How Many Classes Can I Take?
It is recommended students take one course during the winter term.
Pre-requisites
Courses taken during the winter term can serve as a pre-requisite for a course student wishes to take in the spring semester. Please contact your advisor for questions or assistance with scheduling.
Campus Closing
On dates the university is closed for year-end holidays, students will have limited support from campus offices. No classes will meet from Dec. 24 – Jan. 3.
Cost and Financial Aid
There is no financial aid available to students for the winter term. We’re committed to doing all that we can to ensure Cumberland is affordable and that we deliver a great educational value. To help offset the cost of tuition, we have discounted the winter term tuition rates by 50%. Undergraduate tuition costs will cost $525 per credit hour plus the access fee for the winter term. Some additional course fees may apply. All books and supplies are additional out of pocket expenses.

Bookstore
Students may order books from the CU Bookstore. The bookstore is open at the beginning and end of each semester and rental orders can be placed online and either shipped to your home, or picked up on campus. Your professors will let the bookstore know which books are required for each course, so you’ll only need to know your course schedule to order your books.

CANVAS
CANVAS is an online course management tool that professors will utilize to display course related content. Some courses may require that you submit assignments through CANVAS or take quizzes or tests. To login, use your student email name (example JSmith12) and your email password. If you have trouble accessing CAMS, Canvas or your student email you can contact IT Support at support.cumberland.edu/portal.

CAMS
CAMS is your online student portal that allows you to register for classes, view your class schedule, check your grades, review your ledger and pay your balance. It is a tool you will use often. To access CAMS you use your student email and password. If you have trouble accessing CAMS, Canvas or your student email you can contact IT Support at support.cumberland.edu/portal.

Student Services handles student billing. We’re here to help you pay your CU balance each semester, make payment arrangements, and sign up to receive any future refunds due to you.
Our office is located in Memorial Hall, 1st floor, Suite 109 and our students are always welcome to schedule an appointment to meet with us to discuss their account.
