Step 1: Apply to CU
Before your academic journey can begin, you must take the first step and apply to CU. We have enrollment specialists ready to guide you through the entire admissions process and answer all of your questions, so you feel confident and ready for this next step in your life.

Step 2: Apply through the US Department of Veterans Affairs
The Veteran’s Online Application (VONAPP) allows you to submit your request online. Student eligibility for VA education benefits is determined solely by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Step 3: Submit your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) form
Once you have received notification that you are eligible for benefits, you will need to submit your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) form to our veterans benefits representative at vabenefits@cumberland.edu.
Admissions Requirements
Below are the list of items we must receive to provide you with an admissions decision.

Complete online admissions application.

Submit an official high school transcript from your high school's counselor's office, GED, and/or transcripts from any college or university attended.

Submit official ACT or SAT scores if they are not listed on your high school transcripts *UPDATE: In response to the reduced number of national and state testing dates for the ACT and SAT caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Cumberland University is suspending the requirement for standardized test scores for students seeking admission as first-time freshmen for the Fall 2022 semester. Additionally, the requirement of an ACT or SAT score for dual enrollment students is being suspended for Spring 2021. In lieu of testing scores, all students with a high school GPA below 3.0 must complete the Personal Statement and Resilience Questionnaire.

Submit Immunization Records - All students must submit proof of medical vaccinations. Download the medical forms you need to complete here
Cumberland University notifies the applicant of his/her admission status as soon as all necessary documentation/credentials have been received.
Veterans Administration Programs
Many Veterans Administration programs are available to eligible veterans and/or their dependents. Contact your local Veterans Administration Office if you feel you may be eligible for assistance in any of the following:

Children of servicemen or servicewomen missing in action, or prisoners of war for more than 90 days.

Children, spouses, widows, or widowers of veterans who died or were permanently/totally disabled in or as a result of service in the armed forces of the United States.

Qualified veterans who were on continuous duty for at least 181 days ending after January 1, 1965, or people currently on active duty.
Post-9/11 GI Bill® Enrollment Verification
Students using Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits at Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) and Non-College Degree (NCD) facilities who receive a Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) and/or kicker payment are required to verify their enrollment each month to continue receiving their payments.
